How to play

1. Pick a course, difficulty and horse in the paddock, and optionally place a bet.
2. Alternate left and right in time with the beat ring: press as the coloured ring closes, the arrow shows which side is next. Perfect beats build your combo and your speed. Your first race starts with a short tutorial.
3. Use Up and Down (or swipe on a touch screen) to change lanes and avoid getting boxed in; drafting behind a rival saves stamina.
4. Press Space for a whip burst when you need to pass, but watch your stamina bar.
5. On the steeplechase press Shift or Enter just before each hurdle to jump.
6. Cross the line first, and take the photo finish, to win the prize money.

Controls

Tips & tricks

• Alternate keys exactly on the beat: tapping the same key twice breaks your stride.
• Save the whip for the final furlongs and do not use it on empty stamina.
• Slipstream behind a leading horse to recover stamina before you pass.
• On the mudflats, keep away from the puddles: they slow you down.
• Jump hurdles slightly late rather than early: a mistimed jump is a stumble.
